About Teacher

African American mezzo-soprano GeDeane Graham is a native of Bay Springs, Ms. Graham is known for her rich bottom yet shimmery top.  Fall of 2018, she completed a Performance Diploma at Jacobs School of Music under the tutelage of Jane Dutton. Graham received her Masters at Michigan State University as a Clare S. Mackey scholar.  Her accomplishments include; studying abroad in Todi, Italy, Beijing,China, and alto soloist in Handel’s Messiah with Michigan Steinar Chorale. Ms. Graham is a past festival artist at Utah Festival of Opera and Musical Theatre in Logan, Utah.  She covered and performed roles of Strawberry Woman, Maria, Annie from Porgy and Bess, featured Midinettes from Tabarro, Mistress of Novices and Lay Sister II from Suor Angelica. Spring 2017, Graham sang the role of Auntie in Indiana University Opera Theatre’s production of Britten’s Peter Grimes. Following shortly after, she covered the roles of La Principessa and Zita in New York at the Martina Arroyo Prelude to Performance. Last summer Ms. Graham was delighted to travel internationally to participate the International Opera Experience Program with the gracious support of Georgina Joshi International Fellowship Award. She recently received her Masters at Michigan State University as a Clare S. Mackey scholar.
